Behind the Curtain: Everyman Theatre

  • Everyman Theatre 5-11 Hope Street Liverpool, England, L1 9BH United Kingdom (map)

‘Behind the Curtain’ is a guided tour series to explore some of City Region’s most iconic cultural venues.

Join us as we uncover the inner workings of these performance spaces, from the green room, rehearsal spaces to the stage itself. These unique experiences led by the in-house teams will provide an insight into how their buildings have had to evolve to remain world class.

As part of the Liverpool Architecutre Festival we invite you to join us in a behidn the scenes tour of the Everyman Theatre, Liverpool

The Everyman Theatre was founded in 1964 and was previosuly known as Hope Hall (once a chapel and cinema). In 2011 the theatre closed for a complete rebuild for what stands today, making it the most modern theatre we visit in this series of Behind the Curtain.

The new theatre was designed by Haworth Tompkins and reopned in 2014. That year the theatre won The Stirling Prize from RIBA for being the best British building of the year, beating The Shard in London.
