Explore RCP at The Spine – a WELL platinum certified building

Interested in finding out more about what it takes to achieve Liverpool’s first WELL platinum rated building?

Join lead architect for The Spine, Rob Hopkins, Director and Head of sustainability at AHR, and Cathy Hardman, workplace manager for the Royal College of Physicians on a tour of The Spine building in the heart of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter. The tour is a unique opportunity to visit the floors which have been awarded the highest rating possible due to their range of architectural features that promote wellbeing. These include biophilic (planting) strategies such as the installation of natural materials like timber, and abundant indoor plants, daylight optimisation, water filtration, its adjoining wellness cafe, The Base, which centres around healthy and vegan/plant-based food, and more.

The tour will take approximately one hour 30 minutes and you will have the opportunity to ask Rob and Cathy questions throughout.

Find out more about The Spine’s International WELL Building Institute platinum certification.

Queer Places: The Exhibition

The Exhibition Launch

Join us for the exhibition launch of Queer Places - a growing archive of Liverpool’s LGBTQ+ Spaces: Past, Present & Future.

With thanks to Unit3 Design Studio for hosting, the exhibition will be celebrating the evening with art, drinks and a boogie with Liverpool's Asian Sensation, Dan Chan on the decks. Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about queer heritage, connect with like-minded individuals and support our lovely community.

Tickets are limited so please book ahead. You can find tickets here.

When: Friday, 24 May 2024 18:00 - 21:00

The Exhibition

After the first sold-out event as part of Homotopia Festival 2023, we are excited to be sharing with you an immersive space filled with art, architectural models, photographs and artefacts - all celebrating Liverpool's iconic LGBTQ+ spaces.

The exhibition will be open to the public from the 3rd of June until the 30th of November 2024, Monday - Friday, 2-4pm.

You will also be able to purchase the beautifully curated Queer Places book, designed by artist, Luke Fawcett. All proceeds of the booklet will fund the future of Queer Places - where we already have planned community workshops, artist collaborations and further research.

Thank you for your support and follow us on Instagram @queerplaces to see what we are getting up to!
